Developed by Angkor International Airport Investment (Cambodia) Co Ltd, the airport will have a 4E category and a runway of 3,600 meters. It will feature 48 gates and have the capacity to handle 7 million passengers initially, with projected growth to 10 million by 2030 and 20 million by 2050. Cargo capacity is also expected to increase significantly. The new airport will be called siem reap airport shuttle Reap-Angkor International Airport. The main traffic to the airport will be tourists visiting Siem Reap's Angkor archaeological park. The existing Siem Reap airport (REP) will no longer be in operation.
