The sister of Allison Baden-Clay has spoken for the first time since the mother-of-three's husband was convicted of her brutal murder.
In April 2012, Allison was reported missing by her husband Gerard Baden-Clay. Almost immediately police treated her death as a murder and two months later in June 2012, charged the former Brisbane real estate agent.
He was convicted on July 14, 2014 of murdering his beauty queen wife and dumping her body in a creek in far western Brisbane.
Now a year after Baden-Clay was handed a life sentence for the terrifying crime, Allison's sister has described how her family are trying to get on with their lives and use her name to educate kids on domestic violence and help children who have suffered trauma such as the death of a family member.

‘It certainly gave us some closure but we knew that there was still a long road ahead,' Allison's sister Vanessa Fowler told 7 News of Gerard's guilty verdict.
Allison was a vibrant woman, a keen dancer, devoted mother and successful career woman.
The Baden-Clay's three children are Allison's lasting legacy and are now in the care of her parents where they are receiving therapy.

Their oldest daughter is excelling in dancing and according to Vanessa they have inherited their mother's affable personality.
‘The girls have a lot of Allison's traits and her kindness, her nurturing soul,' Vanessa said.

They looked like the perfect, happy couple, but Gerard and Allison Baden-Clay (pictured) had a crumbling marriage and his real estate busiess was on the verge of collapse when he decided to cash in on his wife's life insurance and murder her while their three young girls were sleeping in the family house
A post-mortem examination failed to determine a cause of death for Allison as her body was so badly decomposed.
A kayaker found her badly swollen and decomposing body on the muddy banks of Kholo Creek on April 30, 2012, ten days after her husband reported her missing.
Forensic pathologist Dr Nathan Milne told the court that apart from a chipped tooth and some minor bruising scattered on her body, there were no fractures.
He determined that she had not died from natural causes. The crown said she died at the hands of her husband, the last person to see her alive.

The murder trial exposed a relationship of turmoil between the Baden-Clays, despite appearing successful and happy from the outside.
In particular, Baden-Clay had been having an affair with one of his real estate managers, Toni McHugh, who told the court he had promised her a future together.
Baden-Clay had shamelessly pretended to search for his wife, and had pretended that the scratch marks made by Allison's finger nails on his face as he killed her were cuts he had made while saving.
A jury didn't believe him and found him guilty. Baden-Clay, who is the great grandson of the scouting industry founder Lord Baden-Powell has now been in Wacol prison west of Brisbane for three years and works in the industries section, building trailers and earning up to $8.22 a day.
Allison's family have partnered with Australian of the Year Rosie Batty, in an effort to educate young school children on domestic violence and have launched allisonsgift.com.au to support children in financial hardship after experiencing traumatic circumstances, such as the death of a family member.
Gerard Baden-Clay will appeal his conviction in a Brisbane court on August 7, with Allison's family having frozen her life insurance and superannuation policies until all legal action is finalised.
